Backflow Connections:

Any type of situation whereby backflow can occur in the plumbing system.

Back-Pressure Backflow:

Backflow due to increased pressure above the distribution potable water pressure, could be due to pumps , boilers, gravity, or other sources of pressure tied in to the supply.

Backflow Preventer:

Simply put, A back-flow prevent er is a mechanical device that prevents back-flow into a potable water system, by means of check valves.

Back-Siphon age:

The backward flow of used, contaminated, or polluted water from, a plumbing fixture or other means, a water supply pipe due to negative pressure in pipe.

Backwater Valve:

A device installed into a drainage system to prevent reverse flow. Commonly used on residential type homes due to being lower than the street lateral.
